Saturday March 8th sees run playing host to the Sushitech record label!
Saturday March 8th saw Run play host to the Sushitech record label. Yossi Amoyal and Koljah came over from Berlin and delivered 4 hours of Sushitech action. Following on from successful sets at T-bar, Watergate / Panorama Bar to name but a few clubs, it was a mixture of deep driving techno, quality minimal and some classic house and techno from Yossi and Koljah, who played back to back.
Spread out over 2 rooms, the party was a celebration of techno in all it’s various guises with minimal techno from Run residents Russell Skellon and deep techno and jacking grooves courtesy of Chris Box. Whilst the special guests and residents tore up room 1, over in room 2 the chunkier side of minimal techno was being represented by After Dinner/Netaudio head honcho Andi Sparks. This party also saw the 1st official live outing from SST - the new project from Alex Fisher and J-Lab, who performed the night's only live set. It was a great Detroit inspired journey from these 2 regular live players at Run. Over 90 minutes it was clear that these two bring out the best in each other when it comes to performing together! After SST, Uberdog of Toxic Dancehall and Werk delivered a mash-up of acid house, dub step, techno, electronica, minimal. Steve Strawberry, the man from Tilted Disco and Closer took the tempo up a notch as befits the man who has been responsible for some of the capitals best techno parties recently, and gave his characteristic energy, style and passion to bring some magic to the room. Ugly Funk originator and good friend of ours Sikaflex delivered an original and uncompromising mix of no-skool tekno and electro that took the party to it's conclusion.
