Biography
Andi Studer was first actively involved in club-land at the age of 15, when running a local youth-discotheque in Switzerland. That was back in the old days of 1989, and admittedly Andi has gone some way since. In 2002 Andi became active as a DJ and promoter in London, running the infamous aftermatch nights, first in Stoke Newington and later on in Shoreditch under the name Andi Sparks.
In collaboration with Alex Fisher, Andi started After-Dinner.net, an online label and music platform. Running since January 2005 After-Dinner.net has established itself as a platform to promote the sounds of London’s minimal-tech/house producers as well as supporting independent events and parties. In the recent past After-Dinner has co-promoted events such as Acid Toe Jam, Netaudio’06 and has collaborated with the Arena Soundsystem and with run.
As a DJ, Andi Sparks uses vinyl as well Serato Scratch and promotes contemporary techno with explorations into house, electro and dub. His sounds are minimal, but with a chunky beat and a lot of funk, depending on the occasion heavy and dark or smooth and fragile. Andi Sparks has shared the stage with artists such as Pheek, DNCN, Dave Tarrida, Animatek, LOD, Andy Vaz, Geoff White, Daniel Bell and countless others – always up for a big one!
